At Insurify, our goal is to help customers compare insurance products and find the best policy for them. We strive to provide open, honest, and unbiased information about the insurance products and services we review. Our hard-working team of data analysts, insurance experts, insurance agents, editors and writers, has put in thousands of hours of research to create the content found on our site.

We do receive compensation when a sale or referral occurs from many of the insurance providers and marketing partners on our site. That may impact which products we display and where they appear on our site. But it does not influence our meticulously researched editorial content, what we write about, or any reviews or recommendations we may make. We do not guarantee favorable reviews or any coverage at all in exchange for compensation.

Why you can trust Insurify: Comparing accurate insurance quotes should never put you at risk of spam. We earn an agent commission only if you buy a policy based on our quotes. Our editorial team follows a rigorous set of editorial standards and operates independently from our insurance partners. Learn more.

Jerry is an insurance-comparison platform and app that helps you with all your car needs, including car insurance, vehicle loans, and repair estimates. Its car insurance comparison product is its main draw — Jerry partners with more than 50 insurance companies to provide you with car insurance quotes.

Jerry isn’t a lead-generation site — it provides users with real quotes. But how does it compare to similar companies, like Insurify, The Zebra, and Gabi? Let’s explore the differences.

Quick Facts
  • To compare quotes with Jerry, you’ll need to download the Jerry app.

  • Jerry automatically shops around for you every six months, prior to each renewal period, providing the three best options it finds.

  • Jerry’s mobile app provides tools for vehicle maintenance, receipt management, and quote comparison.

Jerry at a glance

Jerry, formerly known as Jerry.ai, is a service designed to work like a personal insurance agent. It partners with car insurance companies like Progressive, Nationwide, GEICO, and dozens more to provide users with customized car, home, and renters insurance quotes through its app.

Drivers who use Jerry can’t see multiple quotes or secure a car insurance policy on the company’s website. Instead, after drivers input their information, they can secure policies and see more quotes on Jerry’s app.

Through its use of artificial intelligence and machine learning, Jerry claims it can save customers an average of $800 per year on car insurance. It’s headquartered in Palo Alto, California, and you can reach Jerry by email at [email protected] or phone at 1 (833) 445-3779 seven days a week between 8 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Eastern time.

Jerry pros and cons

Pros

  • Applying for a loan through Jerry could affect your credit score.

How to get quotes through Jerry

You’ll start by filling out information about your current policy, driving history, personal information, and your car’s information on Jerry’s website. Once you’ve done this, Jerry will ask you for your phone number and provide you with a QR code you’ll use to download the Jerry app. You’ll need the app to complete the process.

Once you’ve downloaded the app, you’ll be able to view your quotes. At this stage, you’ll be able to customize your coverage levels, add additional coverages, and choose between liability-only coverage and full coverage.

Jerry shows a recommended plan to start with, but you can adjust various factors, like your insurance coverage limits and deductibles, to see how they affect your quotes. Some companies won’t provide quotes, and Jerry shows you why.

From this point on, Jerry puts your insurance shopping on autopilot by automatically shopping for new quotes with more than 50 insurers before each renewal. You won’t have to speak to an agent or any salespeople to set up your new policy.

Jerry reviews: What real customers are saying

Overall, Jerry has positive reviews across various platforms. The company is accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and has an A+ rating.[1] Jerry is known for its app, and customers have positive experiences with its ease of use and savings on Trustpilot, the Apple App Store, and the Google Play Store.[2][3][4] User complaints focus on inconsistent quotes, an unclear cancelation process, and issues with monthly payments. Here are Jerry’s ratings:

  • Trustpilot: 4/5

  • BBB: 3.5/5

  • Apple App Store: 4.6/5

  • Google Play Store: 4.2/5

Despite the many positive experiences, some customers felt differently. The reviews below cite Jerry’s inconsistent rates and unclear termination policies. It’s worth noting that on the BBB, Jerry does respond to many reviews, positive and negative, to give clarification from its side.[1]

Jerry vs. Insurify

Jerry and Insurify both aim to find people the best rates on car insurance and provide quotes, but each company achieves this goal differently. Jerry focuses on providing a quote through its website and then transfers users to its app to see more options, while Insurify provides quote comparisons all in one place.

Insurify partners with more than 100 insurers, and it compares and offers multiple car insurance rates simultaneously. Insurify also provides multiple ways to secure a policy. Users can do it themselves on the website, on the Insurify app, or talk to real insurance agents.

Jerry partners with more than 50 insurers and primarily secures quotes through its app. If you want, Jerry will automatically shop for rates every six months. The company also offers unique products, such as GarageGuard, which provides maintenance reminders, repair estimates, and diagnostic help, and DriveShield, a telematics-style program.

Both companies offer home insurance and bundling.

Drivers who prefer talking to real agents, comparing and securing an insurance policy all in one place, and more options might like Insurify more. Drivers who like using an app and want extra free features might prefer Jerry.

Jerry vs. Gabi

Jerry and Gabi both offer tools to compare car insurance quotes but differ slightly in how quotes are delivered. Gabi provides quotes via email after using the tool, while Jerry shows quotes in its app. Both require an account, and Jerry requires your phone number and email.

Jerry’s mobile app offers vehicle management tools like maintenance scheduling, receipt management, and seeing open recalls on your car. The app sets Jerry apart from others in the quote-comparison space, as most quote-comparison platforms don’t have mobile apps.

Jerry vs. NerdWallet

NerdWallet is primarily a personal finance website that focuses on topics like investing, credit cards, and student loans. Unlike Jerry, NerdWallet doesn’t have its own quote-comparison tool and instead redirects users to insure.com to get an actual quote.

Methodology

Insurify data scientists analyzed more than 90 million quotes served to car insurance applicants in Insurify’s proprietary database to calculate the premium averages displayed on this page. These premiums are real quotes that come directly from Insurify’s 50+ partner insurance companies in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Quote averages represent the median price for a quote across the given coverage level, driver subset, and geographic area.

Unless otherwise specified, quoted rates reflect the average cost for drivers between 20 and 70 years old with a clean driving record and average or better credit (a credit score of 600 or higher).

Liability-only premium averages correspond to policies with the following coverage limits:

  • Bodily injury limits between state-minimum rates and $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident
  • Property damage limits between $10,000 and $50,000
  • No additional coverage
Full-coverage premium averages correspond to the same bodily injury and property damage limits in addition to:
  • Comprehensive coverage with a $1,000 deductible
  • Collision coverage with a $1,000 deductible

Quotes for Allstate, Farmers, GEICO, State Farm, and USAA are estimates based on Quadrant Information Services’ database of auto insurance rates.
