At Insurify, our goal is to help customers compare insurance products and find the best policy for them. We strive to provide open, honest, and unbiased information about the insurance products and services we review. Our hard-working team of data analysts, insurance experts, insurance agents, editors and writers, has put in thousands of hours of research to create the content found on our site.
We do receive compensation when a sale or referral occurs from many of the insurance providers and marketing partners on our site. That may impact which products we display and where they appear on our site. But it does not influence our meticulously researched editorial content, what we write about, or any reviews or recommendations we may make. We do not guarantee favorable reviews or any coverage at all in exchange for compensation.

Our editorial team spent more than 350 hours developing the Insurify Quality (IQ) Score and scoring insurance companies. The IQ Score objectively analyzes and calculates a score for insurers using more than 15 crucial criteria. The team weighted criteria by importance to the consumer — factors such as customer reviews and affordability influence the score more than availability and third-party ratings.
We rate each company on a 1 to 10 scale based on five categories: financial ratings, customer satisfaction, affordability, customer support and transparency, and availability. Insurify updates ratings once a year or as more recent information becomes available.
- Third-party financial ratings: Insurify uses data from AM Best, S&P, Moody’s, and more to compare insurance companies’ credit and ability to pay out future claims.
- Customer satisfaction: To calculate this score, Insurify analyzed more than 28,000 customer reviews across 155 car insurance companies. We also consider third-party ratings from J.D. Power, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, and Trustpilot.
- Affordability: Our data scientists analyzed more than 90 million real-time auto insurance rates from our partners across the U.S., as well as available discounts, to calculate an affordability score.
- Customer support and transparency: This measures coverage options, ease of claims filing, and the insurer's transparency surrounding discounts, coverages, and claims process.
- Availability and reach: Insurify scores availability and reach by identifying the number of states in which insurers offer coverage and company size by market share.

I also have my homeowners insurance with them. I had a fire in my hot water heater and a year later, someone stayed in my house while I was gone for 2 months. I came home to a floating kitchen floor. After these incidents, StateFarm cancelled my policy.
State Farm is America’s most popular insurance company for good reason. First, it helps you save money with discounts for bundling policies and participating in programs like Drive Safe & Save and Steer Clear. In addition, it offers optional coverages that protect you when you’re driving for a rideshare service or when an accident leaves you stranded while traveling.

GEICO offers low rates and coverage for a variety of vehicles, including ATVs and collectible cars. You can even get covered to drive your car in Mexico. But where GEICO really shines is with its discounts.
GEICO will discount your insurance policy if your car is new or has certain safety equipment installed. GEICO also reduces rates for active and past members of the military, federal employees, and anyone who belongs to one of more than 500 groups to which GEICO offers discounts.

My Opinion
USAA isn’t the cheapest auto insurance company in Fort Worth. But its rates are well below average for liability-only and full-coverage insurance, and it earned Insurify’s second-highest IQ Score among Fort Worth insurers.
USAA was founded by Army officers in 1922, and its focus remains on members of the military and their families. Its vehicle insurance options might be the most extensive available in Fort Worth, with coverage for bicycles, electric bikes, and, through a third party, a variety of planes, including experimental aircraft.

How to get the cheapest car insurance in Fort Worth
Insurance companies consider several factors when calculating your insurance rate, including:[1]
Type of coverage and coverage amount
Credit history
Driving habits
ZIP code
Age and gender
Deductible
Here are some steps you can take to keep rates down:
Drive safely to avoid speeding tickets and accidents.
Improve your credit.
Raise your deductible.
Take advantage of discounts for bundling policies.
Maintain a clean driving record.
It’s also a good idea to shop around. Comparing quotes and coverage options from several Fort Worth insurance companies will help you find the best deal.
Cheapest liability-only car insurance in Fort Worth: State Farm
Liability insurance covers the cost of the other driver’s car repairs and medical bills — as well as their passengers’ — if you’re at fault in an accident. Most states require a certain amount of liability coverage, but if the minimum isn’t enough to adequately protect your finances, you can purchase additional coverage.[2]
Buying only minimum coverage can be a way to save money, but this type of policy isn't for everyone. A liability-only policy can make sense if you own an older, less expensive vehicle and don't have an auto loan on it.
Liability-only policies in Fort Worth cost $121 per month, on average. The following table shows minimum coverage quotes for Fort Worth drivers.

Cheapest full-coverage car insurance in Fort Worth: State Farm
Liability insurance doesn’t cover your own damages. For that, you need full-coverage car insurance, which adds collision and comprehensive coverages to your liability insurance. Collision covers the cost of repairing or replacing your car if you’re in a collision with another vehicle or a stationary object like a light pole. Comprehensive covers damage from non-collision events, such as fire, flood, theft, and vandalism.
Full coverage makes sense if you drive a newer vehicle, or one that will be more expensive to repair. If you lease or finance your car, your leasing company or lender will also likely require you to buy full coverage.
Drivers in Fort Worth pay an average of $245 per month for full-coverage insurance. Here are full-coverage quotes from some top insurers in Forth Worth.

Car insurance requirements in Texas
Texas law requires proof that you can pay for any accidents you cause. For the vast majority of Fort Worth drivers, the best way to provide it is by purchasing 30/60/25 liability insurance to cover the following state minimum liability requirements:[3]
Coverage ▲▼ | Minimum Requirements ▲▼ |
---|---|
Bodily injury liability | $30,000 per person $60,000 per accident |
Property damage liability | $25,000 per accident |
All Texas policies come with personal injury protection, or PIP, which pays for your and your passengers’ medical bills as well as lost wages and other costs, according to the Texas Department of Insurance.
Other coverages you should consider include:
Medical payments coverage
Medical payments covers you and your passengers. It also covers you if you’re hurt while walking, biking, or riding in someone else’s car.
Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage
This covers you if you’re hit by an underinsured or uninsured driver or are the victim of a hit-and-run.
Roadside assistance coverage
Roadside assistance coverage pays for towing if your car breaks down and labor charges to fix a flat or jump-start your battery.
Rental reimbursement coverage
Rental reimbursement coverage pays for a rental while your car is out of commission after an accident or theft.
Cheapest car insurance for drivers with an incident
Any event you report to an insurance company or that gets reported has the potential to increase your rates. These events are called chargeable incidents, and insurance companies take them seriously because they indicate that you’re a higher-risk driver who is more likely to file a claim. Incidents include at-fault accidents, speeding tickets, and DUI convictions.
Cheapest car insurance for drivers with a speeding ticket: State Farm
Speeding increases your risk of getting into an accident, and it also increases the severity of injuries and vehicle damage. As a result, insurance companies penalize drivers for being ticketed for speeding, especially if they’ve accumulated multiple tickets over a short period. But even one ticket can raise your rates.
The average cost of car insurance for drivers with a speeding ticket in Fort Worth is $336 per month for full coverage and $166 for liability only. The following table illustrates how a speeding ticket affects liability rates from top insurers in Fort Worth.

Unless your auto insurance coverage includes accident forgiveness, an at-fault accident is likely to increase your insurance rate. The size of the increase depends on the claim and your insurance company. In Fort Worth, the average cost of car insurance for drivers with an accident is $357 per month for full coverage and $176 for liability only.

While insurance rates aren’t directly tied to credit scores, per se, they’re influenced by credit-based insurance scores that predict the likelihood that you’ll file a claim.
In Texas and every other state that allows insurers to use credit history in calculating rates, maintaining your excellent or good credit or improving poor credit could save you money.[5]
Here’s how credit correlates with average monthly insurance quotes for full coverage in Fort Worth:

Methodology
Insurify data scientists analyzed more than 90 million quotes served to car insurance applicants in Insurify’s proprietary database to calculate the premium averages displayed on this page. These premiums are real quotes that come directly from Insurify’s 50+ partner insurance companies in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Quote averages represent the median price for a quote across the given coverage level, driver subset, and geographic area.
Unless otherwise specified, quoted rates reflect the average cost for drivers between 20 and 70 years old with a clean driving record and average or better credit (a credit score of 600 or higher).
Liability-only premium averages correspond to policies with the following coverage limits:
- Bodily injury limits between state-minimum rates and $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident
- Property damage limits between $10,000 and $50,000
- No additional coverage
- Comprehensive coverage with a $1,000 deductible
- Collision coverage with a $1,000 deductible
Quotes for Allstate, Farmers, GEICO, State Farm, and USAA are estimates based on Quadrant Information Services’ database of auto insurance rates.
